Short answer
We haul almost anything, but there are items no junk removal company can legally take, because they are hazardous and need special handling. Being upfront about them saves you a wasted trip. Here is the honest list, where to take each one, and a reminder that everything else, we haul for a flat price, same-day when you book by early afternoon.
What counts as hazardous
We cannot take:
- Paint, stains, solvents, and thinners
- Motor oil, gasoline, and other fuels
- Propane tanks and other pressurized cylinders
- Household chemicals, pesticides, and pool chemicals
- Most batteries, including car batteries and lithium batteries
- Asbestos and asbestos-containing material
- Medical or biohazard waste, needles, and sharps
- Ammunition, fireworks, and explosives
These are regulated for safety, which is why they route to specialized facilities rather than a junk truck.
What to do with each instead
The City of Los Angeles runs S.A.F.E. Collection Centers (Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, and Electronics) where residents can drop off most household hazardous waste free; find the nearest center and its current hours on the LA Sanitation site (lacitysan.org). Many retailers take back batteries, motor oil, and old electronics. Asbestos and biohazard material require a licensed abatement or disposal service, not a drop-off. Outside the City of LA, your own city or LA County runs equivalent household hazardous waste events and sites.
What we can take
Nearly everything that is not on the list above: furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics and e-waste, yard debris, construction debris, and the full contents of a garage, apartment, or office. If you are unsure about an item, ask when you send your photo and we will tell you straight.
