Privacy Policy
Effective July 12, 2026. The short version: we collect what we need to haul your junk, we don't sell it, and your photos stay private.
1. What we collect
Booking details — your name, phone number, email, pickup address, access notes (gate codes, parking), the items you book, and your order history.
Photos you upload — if you use the photo quote, the photos you attach. These can show the inside of your home, so we treat them carefully (see section 3).
Payment — payments are processed by our payment provider; we receive confirmation that you paid, never your full card number.
Technical basics — like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
2. How we use it
To quote your job, take your booking, and coordinate the pickup.
To dispatch: the crew assigned to your job gets what they need to do it — your name, address, phone, access notes, the item list, and your photos.
To contact you about your booking — confirmations, arrival updates, and follow-ups. We won't send you marketing unless you've asked for it.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Your photos and AI
When you upload photos for a quote, they're analyzed by an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) that identifies the items so we can price them — the same way a person would look at the photo, just faster. The result is a suggestion you review and can change before booking.
Photos are stored privately. They are not published anywhere, and they can only be viewed by our staff and the crew handling your job. If you'd like your photos deleted after your pickup, email us and we'll do it.
4. Who else touches the data
We use a small set of service providers to run Junkline: Vercel (website hosting and photo storage), Neon (our database), Anthropic (AI photo analysis), and our card-payment processor. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service.
5. Your choices (including California rights)
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we extend them to everyone. Email hello@junkline.com and we'll handle it. We may need to keep basic records of completed orders where the law requires it (for example, for taxes).
Junkline is a service for adults — it isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's information.
6. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions or requests: hello@junkline.com. See also our Terms of Service.
