Two things S.A.F.E. Centers won't take

Tires and regular trash aren't accepted. Take tires to a tire retailer (often for a small fee) or a County household-hazardous-waste event; e-waste like TVs, computers, and microwaves is fine at S.A.F.E. Centers.

Donate what still has life

Before the haul, pull out anything usable. Goodwill takes household goods and working electronics; Habitat for Humanity ReStore takes building materials, tools, and hardware. It keeps usable items out of the landfill, and a donation receipt may be worth keeping for taxes.
